Available only to ACTIVE ENROLLED STUDENTS.

A meaningful way for students to engage in their classes and with teachers weekly. We use the App called ‘BAND.’ 

This is where teachers will communicate with parents and students in their online classrooms set up for each class you are enrolled in. We will upload videos of the choreography and skills students need to practise and most importantly, this is where you will be able to view routine choreography for practicing at home. Dancers can also send us their videos and receive feedback/corrections or assistance.

So that you don’t miss out on getting the most from your dance experience with us - please make sure that you are a member in your/you child’s class groups so you can access all of the music, videos and content that is posted fortnightly. You can use Band on a computer or a device. Download it from Google play or the App Store.

How to create an account on BAND

  1. Download the app or visit the website: www.band.us/home 

  2. Click Sign Up.

  3. Choose how you would like to sign up.

  4. Ensure you use your child’s full name (or your full name if an adult dancer)

  5. Continue through by filling out your details.

  6. A verification code will be sent to your email/phone number. UPDATE: If you wish siblings to have separate accounts, you will need a different email address for each account. If you only have one email account or would prefer one BAND account, please combine both siblings names in the first name section.

  7. Verify your account.

  8. Request to join the ‘Bom Funk Family’ Band group: https://band.us/n/a9a3A2j2tfL8X

  9. Wait for acceptance, if you haven’t used your child’s name a message will be sent for confirmation of identity. 

Child Protection Mode is ON in our Band classrooms. What does this mean?

  • The Band type will be set to Private.

  • Admin's approval will be required to join, and only the admin & co-admins can create a Chat. Students cannot chat in private rooms.

  • Members under the age of 13 can join.

  • All Band classrooms are monitored by Director and all staff have strict online procedures they must follow as part of Bom Funk's Child Safe policy and Staff Policy on use of Social Media.

  • Quiet Mode is ON - meaning you will not receive any notifications between 8pm - 8am.

The links for each Band classroom are located in the top notification section. Click on each link that is relevant to you/your child and request to join.

NOTE - you will not find your child’s class doing a search in Band as we have the ‘child protection mode ON’ which means people cannot search for the classrooms.
